Difficult Conversations: The Relational Way

  • Every organisation relies on dialogue — yet the moments that matter most are often the hardest to navigate. Whether it’s giving feedback, managing conflict, or addressing performance concerns, many managers avoid or mishandle difficult conversations, leading to tension, mistrust, and disconnection across teams.

Difficult Conversations: The Relational Way offers a psychologically informed approach to communication that is both practical and compassionate. This workshop helps leaders and managers move beyond avoidance or authority-driven interactions, and instead engage with empathy, honesty, and confidence, even under pressure.

    • How to lead conversations with empathy and confidence, creating psychological safety even in tense moments.

    • Ways to stay calm and manage emotions (your own and others’) to prevent escalation.

    • Techniques for active listening that build understanding, respect, and connection.

    • How to communicate clearly and kindly, reducing defensiveness while maintaining authority.

    • Practical frameworks for structuring challenging discussions while keeping relationships intact.

This one-day experiential training combines relational theory, communication psychology, and real-world leadership practice. Through guided reflection, role-play, and feedback, participants gain confidence in handling complex workplace interactions — transforming moments of potential conflict into opportunities for growth and trust.

By the end of the day, managers will feel equipped to approach even the most sensitive conversations with clarity, compassion, and professionalism.

  • Designed for managers, leaders, and HR professionals seeking to improve communication, handle conflict effectively, and build trust-based relationships at work.
